The untimely demise of Whitney Houston, hailed as the world’s most awarded female act of all times, has saddened not only international music scene, but also Filipino artists, especially those who began their careers by singing the legendary diva’s songs.

To pay tribute to Houston’s exemplary contribution to the development of popular music, MYX will air a special tribute entitled “Remembering Whitney: The MYX Music Memorial” on Wednesday (Feb 15), 7a.m., 1p.m., 5p.m. and 10p.m. and on Sunday (Feb 19), 10a.m.

The Historical Comeback of the Classic Hit TV Series 'Valiente' Tonight in TV5!

One of the classic hit TV series which many of us grew with will have a grand comeback tonight in TV5. "Valiente" already created a remarkable legacy in the history of Philippine television. And starting tonight, a new history will be embarked as its exciting remake premieres!

"My Binondo Girl" fought in a neck to neck battle with last year's Best TV Series awardee, "Imortal!" The overall total votes got by "My Binondo Girl" was really closer to the final votes got by "Imortal." The said vampire-werewolf fantasy series grabbed the second spot!

Kim Chiu, the lead star of "My Binondo Girl" failed to snatch the "Leading Lady of the Year" title! She lose from Imortal's leading lady Angel Locsin! Angel was once more chosen by the people to be the "2011 Leading Lady of the Year" because of her remarkable character as the she-wolf Lia Ortega. This is the second time around of Ms. Angel Locsin to be hailed as the "Leading Lady of the Year!" Cool!

Newest in the field of leading in a Primetime soap, Xian Lim vested the other veteran leading men as he grabbed the "Leading Man of the Year" title!

"Mara Clara" is the second huge winner for this year! Three awards were got by this teleserye including the "Best TV Series Remake," "Kontrabida of the Year" award for Jhong Hilario, and "Most Promising Female New Face" for Kathryn Bernardo! Kathryn's leading man in "Growing Up" who is Daniel Padilla took the "Most Promising Male New Face" award. And of course their weekend teen-oriented drama series "Growing Up" got the "Best Youth-Oriented Series" award!

This is also the year wherein we let the viewers choose their bet "Asianovela of the Year" award. And the ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida Koreanovela "Pure Love" also known as "49 Days" got the title!

The year 2011 is another year for TV series! Different teleseryes of different genres were introduced on the said year from the three giant networks! But of all these teleseryes, "My Binondo Girl" emerged on top!

For 2010 and 2011, Angel was being voted by many viewers as their favorite leading lady in a Primetime TV series! Her remarkable character as the she-wolf Lia Ortega in the phenomenal hit fantasy series "Imortal" leads her to grab the title!

2011 TV Series Craze Awards Winner - Xian Lim is the "Leading Man of the Year!"

2011 is really a golden year for this cutie hunk! After being the newest leading man of the Primetime Princess Kim Chiu in the hit teleserye "My Binondo Girl," Xian Lim eventually rose in fame! Xian even emerged as the winner taking the title of being the "Leading Man of the Year" for 2011 here in our very own TV Series Craze Awards!

Though this is the first time of Xian to become a leading man in a primetime TV series, he was able to beat the other leading men already veterans in the world of TV series!

Here is the official final result of this category:

Xian Lim got a victorious 35% overall total votes. Taking the second spot is last 2010's Leading Man of the Year John Lloyd Cruz for his fantasy series "Imortal." And of course Coco Martin, today's lead actor of "Walang Hanggan" who previously led in "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin" grabbed the third place. Here is their ranking and overall percentage of votes:

Former "Goin' Bulilit" Kids Now on the Mainstream Comedy Youth-Oriented Series 'Luv You!'

With the success of “TODA Max” as the country’s no. 1 sitcom and “Goin’ Bulilit,” which is now on its seventh year, ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Comedy proudly presents its newest member “Luv U,” the comedy series that is sure to spice up the weekends of the youth.

Featured in “Luv U” are the talented former Bulilits who are now tweeners like Miles Ocampo, Angeli Gonzales, Kiray Celis, CJ Navato and Igi Boy Flores. The program also introduces young heartthrob Marco Gumabao.

“I’m really honored to be part of Kapamilya Comedy’s ‘Luv U.’ This is my first ever project, so I’ll do my best,” ani Marco.

It all started when they caught the attention of JB (Marco), Boom (CJ) and Rocky (Igiboy) on their very first day at Luv U. With all the courtships and attempts on their first kiss, the six teen students will learn a very valuable lesson in life—that you cannot get all straight A's in love.

In an interview, Miles said she’s ready for the new role and excited for the project because she herself enjoys high school life.

“The program will really make us laugh, but it will also teach a lot of lessons. Young people out there can really relate with this.” Miles said.

Miles added that she’s indebted to Goin’ Bulilit, where she started doing comedy. “Direk Bobot Mortiz didn’t only train us to be good actors, he also instilled in us values that can be helpful in our careers.”

'Toda Max' Lead Stars Share Their Tighten Friendship and Success!

A few months after ABS-CBN’s flagship sitcom “TODA Max" was launched, it didn’t only become no. 1 in the ratings game, it has also strengthened the friendship of action superstar Robin Padilla, hailed comedy prince Vhong Navarro, seasoned comedienne Pokwang and action-drama princess Angel Locsin.

The four said that in the few months of working together, they have already created countless memories to cherish. Their characters in the sitcom may sometimes have a hard time settling their differences, but their real camaraderie tells otherwise. They really enjoy the company of each other.

Besides their harmonious working relationship, they are also proud of each others' achievements. As Angel’s relationship with the athlete she’s dating goes strong, her bonding with co-stars in “TODA Max” also gets tighter. She said that the sitcom paved way to reveal her funny side.

For Pokwang, if she has her recently built mansion, she also has Beverly Gil’s as her second home, as her co-stars and the members of the production team are like a family.

Meanwhile, in its new season, “TODA Max” will make more people happy, as it intensifies its comedy offering.

After weeks of intense battles for culinary supremacy, the country’s favorite kiddie cooks Cailtin, Jobim, Kyle, Louise, Mika, and Philip will whip up the best dishes this weekend that will secure them a spot in the grand finale of “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition.”

PBB's Ex-Housemate Wendy Shares Her Experience and Feelings to Carlo After Exiting Kuya's House!

Controversial “Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited” ex-housemate Wendy admitted to feeling ‘kilig’ from her romantic fling with housemate Carlo, whom she sees as respectful, gentlemanly, sweet, and an ideal boyfriend.

But after getting evicted from the famous PBB house last Saturday (Feb 4), she found out that her boyfriend Lance had almost gone out of the country because he could no longer bear the negative spotlight he was cast into when Wendy and Carlo’s trivial flirting had many eyebrows raising.

“I have already apologized to him. I wasn’t so careful with what I said and did because I was becoming more and more comfortable inside the house. Little did I know that Lance took all the negative criticisms about me,” explained Wendy.

While the fling generated hype for the reality show, Wendy revealed she has yet to have actual feelings for Carlo, and that her physical separation from boyfriend Lance only made their relationship stronger. In fact, she feels grateful to PBB for drawing Lance and her parents closer as both parties had been consoling each other when they worried about Wendy.

“Lance fought for me, and my parents saw that he really cared for me when he faced the consequences of my PBB stint. Before I entered the house, I was unsure if they would ever hit it off. I felt so happy when my mom and Lance both welcomed me in the outside world when I got evicted,” she said.

Known for her sincerity and frankness, Wendy is one of the most recognizable personalities in PBB’s present season. Her popularity among viewers proved to be undeniable, for even when she was repeatedly nominated week after week, she would score a high percentage of votes that saved her from eviction. She even considered the nominations a chance to prove herself to her housemates, family, and the public.

Wendy revealed, “It turned out to be an opportunity for me to step up and prove my detractors wrong. I do not regret anything; I went through all the tasks without quitting.”

Now that her stay inside the PBB house is over, the alluring ramp model dreams anew of becoming a beauty queen and be teamed up with her showbiz crush Piolo Pascual. She also intends to enter showbiz and wants to build a successful career similar to her idol’s, the versatile PBB host Toni Gonzaga whom Wendy admires for her singing, hosting, and acting prowess.

“She can do anything. It all seems so natural to her,” Wendy quipped.

Sometimes Wendy is referred to as the housemate who was raised like a princess, but the program’s avid spectators have come to know her as a spoiled brat who is brave enough to express and stand up for what she truly feels. As she faces new challenges outside of the PBB house, she brings with her the most important lesson she learned as a housemate: patience.

“Big Brother teaches the housemates to be persistent. The old Wendy would immediately back out on the tasks, but I carried on,” she said.

The ICTSI Philippine Open, Asia’s oldest National Open that has welcomed many worthy champions such as Frankie Miñoza, Angelo Que, Artemio Murakami, Elmer Salvador, Wang Ter-Chang and defending champion Berry Henson, tees off today at the Wack-Wack Golf and Country Club.

Balls (SkyCable Channel 34), home of the world’s biggest sporting events, proudly airs live the historic 96th edition of the tourney on February 9 and 10, 1p.m. to 5p.m., and February 11 and 12, 12p.m. to 4p.m. Replays will commence on Studio 23 on February 10 to 13, 12:30a.m.

Balls and Studio 23 are among the global television platforms to air the ICTSI Philippine Open. For the first time, the tourney will be aired in over 200 countries.

Que was the last Filipino to rule the Open in 2008. The year before Que’s win, it was Miñoza who claimed the victory for two years in a row.

Besides Miñoza and Que, other Filipino golf veterans such as Mars Pucay, Antonio Lascuña and teenager Miguel Tabuena will also play in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Dubai Desert Classic, one of the European Tour’s premier events will also be aired on Balls on February 9 and 10, 9p.m. and February 10 and 11, 8p.m.

The Kapuso network proudly launched their so-called "Febulous Monday!" This is a pilot Monday wherein three newest Kapuso teleseryes premiered. They offered three new TV series - two in the afternoon and one in Primetime with of course three different genres!

Two new teleseryes greeted the daytime with GMA-7's Afternoon Prime offering namely "Broken Vow" and "Alice Bungisngis!"

"Broken Vow" is a heavy drama teleserye about a broken marriage because of a dark past. Rochelle Pangilinan, Luis Alandy, Gabby Eigenmann, and Bianca King composed the four main characters.

ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida Koreanovela called "Pure Love" is hailed as the "2011 Asianovela of the Year" here in our very own 2011 TV Series Craze Awards.

Based on the combined number of votes here in this website plus in our Facebook Fan Page, "Pure Love" emerged on top with a 30% overall total votes. It bested the other Asianovelas both from Kapamilya and Kapuso.

2011 also served as the rise of the different TV series remakes. Classic hit TV series were given new lives in today's generation.

"Mara Clara," "Mula Sa Puso," "Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin," "Green Rose," "Maria La Del Barrio," and "Nasaan Ka Elisa?" were just some of the hit remakes in the said year! They pitted one another in our 2011 TV Series Craze Awards Best TV Series Remake. And the crown goes to..."Mara Clara!"

Here is the final and official results based on your online votes:

"Mara Clara" got a landslide percentage overall total votes of 66% beating the other rival TV series.

Meanwhile the other TV series remake of ABS-CBN namely "Maria La Del Barrio" and "Nasaan Ka Elisa?" took the second and third spot with 9% and 8% votes respectively! Meanwhile, the other remakes all got 5% total votes leading them on the fourth slot.

The modern "Mara Clara" launches the career of our new drama princesses Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes. The original 90's version was topbilled by Judy Ann Santos and Gladys Reyes!

2011 marked the battle of the different youth-oriented shows. The three giant networks offer three different shows for the teen. And because of the hit of the youth-oriented shows, the 2011 TV Series Craze Awards chose the best of them all via your online votes.

"Good Vibes," "Tween Hearts," "Bagets," and "Growing-Up" battled for the title of this year's "Best Youth-Oriented Series" And the trophy goes to no other than..."Growing Up!"

Here is the final and official results of the votes:

"Growing Up" beat the three other contenders with a 63% overall total votes! The other Kapamilya youth-oriented show "Good Vibes" placed second with a 19% total votes.

The third and the fourth place were taken by GMA-7's "Tween Hearts" with 15% total votes and by TV5's "Bagets" with only 1% of the total votes.

In the Facebook Fan Page, "Growing Up" also emerged on top defeating the other three teen shows.

"E-Boy" sets a new trend in the world of Pinoy TV series. ABS-CBN, the maker of the remarkable TV series now introduces the very first sci-fi TV series or 'robor-serye' in Philippine television.

"E-Boy" tells the story of a child robot who wishes to become a human and feel the warmth love of true human family. He was created by a genius man who is longing for his dying son.

The child wonder Bugoy Cariño portrays the character of "E-Boy." Ariel Rivera is his creator. Agot Isidro and the child stars Maliksi Morales and Deydey Amansec completed the family of E-Boy.
